Fat Traps Eastern Cape

1. Fat, oil and grease traps – F.O.G. traps

The purpose of F.O.G traps is to prevent drains from becoming blocked up with emulsified fats. These traps keep the fats, oils and grease from entering the sewer lines which then harden in the pipes and become a health hazard.

The traps are fitted with a series of baffles which keep the emulsified fats back so that cleaner water can enter the sewer lines. These systems are vital to install in environments like restaurants where fats and grease can accumulate quickly and cause plumbing nightmares.

2. Swimming pool backwash water

Solve the headache of water loss from backwashing your pool with WATERfirst’s Backwash system.

Each time a pool is backwashed there is a water loss of between 200 and 400 litres of valuable water. In times of water restrictions, this is an extremely costly loss! The good news is that this water can be, with the installation of a WATERfirst’s swimming pool backwash system, recycled back into your pool.

This system allows the dirt from the backwash water to settle over time, and thereafter be returned into your pool as clean top up water. In times of water restriction and with hot summer suns, this system plays a valuable part in keeping your pool running at optimum fun.

WATERfirst also installs rainwater tanks to use as top up for your swimming pool.

3. Car wash bay recycling units

A conservative amount of fresh water used to wash a small car is 50 -80 litres. Multiply that by 100 cars and you have 5,000 – 8,000 litres of valuable water travelling down the sewer lines. We all like to keep our environment and cars clean and the good news is that used car wash bay water can be biologically treated and reused for the next car wash.

WATERfirst uses a bio-remediation treatment process which breaks down the organic and inorganic substances in the car wash soaps and car oils, leaving the water clean and ready for reuse. There is little water lose through this system and by installing rainwater tanks to use as top up water, you become less reliant on the need for municipal water.
